Charlie Arturaola

Charlie is the central character in the two previous very successful wine films, El Camino del Vino and The Duel of Wine.

Born in Uruguay, Charlie Arturaola is a legendary, charismatic wine expert and sommelier. He has an advanced degree from the L’Ecole du Vin a Bordeaux. In 2012 he was selected as the IWSC best Wine Communicator. Charlie is an honorary member of the Italian Sommelier Association, taster of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and the American Fine Wine competition in America.

His fluency in five languages has taken him from Brazil to Bordeaux and from Montefalco to Patagonia, allowing him to deliver his passion for wine in Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and English.

Currently active on wine juries and in tasting competitions, he is often a consultant an is a popular figure in the wine world. Charlie is also a well known actor due to his roles in two wine movies, El Camino del Vino (2010) and The Duel of Wine (2015). He is the producer and actor in 6 episodes of “The Wine Guys: Grape Escapes ” (TV Series documentary – 2017). Charlie is also one of the sommeliers featured in the 2019 Argentine film, The Best Sommelier in the World. Arturaola is in demand as TV stations are looking to capitalize on the growing wine culture in the US.

In The New Wine Spy, the 3rd film in the “Charlie Series,” Charlie will play the character of Mickey Garcia, a sommelier/journalist, who undertakes a sacred mission to protect the quality of wine all over the world.
